OneSino Park: A Sculpture Born in the Mountain

Matrix Design's Masterpiece Wins Silver A' Design Award

The OneSino Park, a sales office designed by Matrix Design, is a deconstructive sculptural building that stands out with its unique properties and design realization technology. The design, which started in May 2019 and finished in March 2020 in Chongqing, covers a total of 3000 square meters. It has been awarded the Silver A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award in 2021.

The inspiration behind the OneSino Park emphasizes the integrity of the inner wall, such as the option of the space tone and the direction of the stone groove. The penetration of light and shadow into the space also shows more sense of texture. To some extent, it starts with the expression of "emptiness", which intuitively and directly expands the boundary attribute of space.

What makes this design different from others is its recognizability. It looks just like a three-dimensional sculpture naturally born in the mountain. The coordination of architecture, landscape, and interior together presents different spatial organization forms through "interspersing, complementary, high and low mixing". It creates an art space of "urban art and culture living room" by the method of light and shadow from the inside to the outside.

The main materials in this project are wood texture marble, beige marble, terrazzo, dark color mirror stainless steel, and white marsac. As the main material of the space, warm light-colored marble is actually more like a concept, and it also minimizes the interference to the space state.

The design team, consisting of Wang Guan, Liu Jianhui, and Wang Zhaobao, faced several challenges during the design process. From the perspective of spatial movement and relationship, they dealt with simplicity and openness, and made the space bigger, empty, and open through simple arrangement and combination without compulsory limitation of functional space to achieve the effect of expanding the space boundary.

The exterior facade lines of the building are divided into the interior space after being deconstructed and adjusted for density. Designers use "folded panels" to refine the space at the split points. Pointing at the huge inverted cone in the sky, the glass allows the divinity of light to pour out in front of people without any reservation. The huge staircase extends into the air with the end extended to nowhere, like a cyclical cycle, focusing on the line of sight and so on.

OneSino Park is a testament to the innovation and creativity of Matrix Design, and its recognition with the Silver A' Design Award is well-deserved. This project serves as an inspiration for future designs in the field of architecture and interior design.
